This policy explains how Twigs handles your data. Twigs is a macOS assistant, operated by an independent developer based in Indonesia (referred to here as "Twigs," "we," or "us"). It covers both the Twigs app and this website at heytwigs.com.
The short version. The memory Twigs keeps lives on your Mac, not on our servers. We store the minimum needed to run your account and your plan. We never see or store your card details. We do not sell your data.
What we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we store your email address and a sign-in identity so you can log in.
Usage and metering
To apply your monthly allowances, we record how much you use Twigs. This includes counts of requests by type, credit usage, and dictation word counts for the current month. We use this only to enforce those allowances, prevent abuse, and understand product usage in aggregate.
The content of your requests
Twigs only acts on what you give it. When you start a request by typing, speaking, or pointing it at something you are working on, Twigs sends the content needed to complete that request to the AI providers listed below, processes the result, and returns it to you. Dictation audio is sent to a speech provider to be turned into text. We do not retain this content beyond what is needed to complete the request and keep the usage counts described above.
The website
When you download Twigs from heytwigs.com, we store the email address you enter so we can send you setup help and occasional product updates. The site does not run advertising trackers.
What stays on your Mac
Twigs keeps a memory so it can carry context from one task to the next. That memory is stored locally on your own machine. It is not uploaded to our servers, not synced to the cloud by default, and not shared. You can clear it from the app at any time, which removes it from your Mac.
Who processes your data
We use a small set of providers to run Twigs. Each processes data only to provide their part of the service.
- A cloud infrastructure provider stores your account, usage, and billing records.
- A payment provider processes payments as the merchant of record. See their privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
- AI providers process the content of your requests to produce results, depending on the task.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations. Usage counts reset each billing period. When you delete your account, we remove your cloud records within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain limited billing history.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You can clear your on-device memory yourself from within the app at any time. To delete your account and the records we store in the cloud, or to make any other request, email us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and you can exercise them through the same contact.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect the data we store, including encryption in transit and access controls on our cloud records. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the data we hold to the minimum needed to run your account.
Children
Twigs is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Twigs evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you.
